How to Unlock the Bootloader of Nothing Phone 1

1. On your phone, go to Settings > About Phone > Software info > tap on build number 7 times.
2. Go back to Settings > System > Developer options > enable OEM unlocking feature.
3. Scroll a bit down in Developer options to find the USB debugging feature, enable it as well.
4. Connect your phone to your PC and open elevated command prompt. Make sure that your PC has latest adb drivers installed.
5. Execute the following commands one by one:
   • adb devices (tap OK on smartphone)
   • adb reboot bootloader (your phone will reboot to bootloader mode)
   • fastboot flashing unlock (on phone, press the volume up button few times till you see “unlock the bootloader”, then press power button.)
6. The phone will reboot to the bootloader menu again.
7. Finally execute “fastboot reboot” command to reboot your phone.

How to Root Nothing Phone 1

1. Enable USB debugging and OEM unlocking feature from developer settings (repeat first 3 steps of the above guide).
2. Now, download the OTA package on your PC and extract the stock boot image from the zip package.
3. Move this file to your smartpohne inside download folder.
4. Now, download and install the magisk apk file on your smartphone.
5. Once downloaded, open the app and tap Install button.
6. Choose Select and patch a file option and select the boot image from download folder. Let the app patch the image file and once done, move the patched image to your PC.
7. Connect your phone to PC and launch elevated command prompt.
8. Execute the following commands one by one:
   • adb reboot bootloader
   • fastboot flash boot <path to magisk_patched_boot.img>
   • fastboot reboot
9. Your phone will reboot to the OS.
